I've been invited to say a few words about our latest fundraiser "Walk Tall for Papyrus".
This is a compilation of songs on Bandcamp that have all been donated by the artists.
So we started with just one song originally, back in June (2021)
A reggae cover of Val Doonican's "Walk Tall" song from 1964.
Just for fun really, just to try to raise a few a few pounds towards a very worthy cause.
Following that I've spent 3 months contacting friends, members of our Facebook group the Sensory Garden Project, which has MC Spee from Dreadzone as a patron.
With friends of myself, and Spee's friends, we've compiled over 80 tracks now, which we've now put onto Bandcamp under various compilations.
The first couple of compilations, Walk Tall Volume 1 and Walk Tall Volume 2 tell the story of the guy, the imaginary guy out of Val Doonican's song.
So you can imagine his whole life story, Val Valsson we've called him, is being told in 30 or 40 songs on each album.
The songs that have been donated for volume one and volume two are all different genres. from Reggae, Indie music, Progressive Rock, Rock, Dub, you name it it's more or less on there, there's a bit of folk, a bit of punk.
Anyway, what we've done, we've also created a couple of selections. One is our favourite rock selections, the other one is our favourite skanking (dance) tunes.
So if you'd rather not have an album of mixed genres then go for one of the selections.
So, I'd like to say a massive thanks to everyone who has supported us so far.
All the artists who have donated tracks, all the DJ's and radio stations that are playing the tracks and raising the awareness for the prevention of suicide.
